Once you have determined which model you fit best with, it’s time to figure out how you’d like to build the aircraft. Builder Assistance is available for the Jabiru kit aircraft at our Completion Center, Arion Aircraft, in Tennessee. Whether you are an experienced craftsman, or are not sure how to work with tools, the program is tailored to your needs.
Still sound like too many other people touching your plane? We can ship the kit to you! We’re here to provide support at every step along the way, should you need it. All builders manuals are available at this website for free. Forever.
With all options selected, you will sign your purchase agreement and begin the process of getting your kit shipped from Australia, or from our inventory in the US! If you have selected to build from home, it will come straight to you. If you are taking advantage of the Builders Assist program, then you will meet the crates in Shelbyville, TN.
Now the fun begins, it’s time to build!
Building at home means a build-at-your-own-pace adventure. However, if you’re working with the team in TN, building classes typically occur in two each, two week sessions (they can be spread into 4 each weekly sessions, however). A builder works with two Jabiru craftsmen eight hours a day for 5 days in each week. These are the same people that build the SLSA aircraft. A complete and ready to fly Jabiru takes about 4 weeks.
With time in-between work sessions for things like painting, you can expect 10-12 weeks from when you start to when the aircraft flies.
